Dylan Mejia is Italy's first junior black belt in Kuk Sool Won.
| In April 2004, 10 year old Dylan R. Mejia received his 1st Dan in Aviano,
Italy Two
months later, he proceeded to the European championship and won
two silver medals for Jung Gum Hyung (sword form) one in
Geum Moo Hyung and a forth place in Joong
Bong Hyung (staff form).
Initially, Dylan chose Kuk Sool Won, so as to be able to do a sport together with his Dad who is also a 1st Dan. Also this was the only sport in the area that offered a chance to learn weapons. Most children in this area do Judo or Karate, and Kuk Sool was different in many respects. |

Dylan is striving to be a junior 2nd Dan in Italy. Currently, Dylan is one of two junior black belts in the Aviano School, and regularly helps teach in the kids class and provides direction to adults in the adults class. Dylan is leading the way for the sport to expand in Italy among young adults. Mr. Amado Garcia, who is a 4th Dan (Sa Bu Nim), has stated that Dylan abilities and performance demonstrate that anyone at any age can become proficient in the art.
